
Overview
The Womens Bay Fire Department provides structural and wild land fire protection to the residents and visitors of the Womens Bay Community. This community encompasses the Bells Flats and Russian Creek Subdivisions as well as portions of USS 2539.
Womens Bay Fire Department is not staffed. Members may be contacted via the message phone number provided. Members are available for on site contact Monday nights from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Womens Bay Fire Department also provides equipment to residents of the community for chimney cleaning. A variety of chimney brushes are available on loan.
Volunteer Information
Womens Bay Fire Department is a volunteer staffed department. Recruitment for volunteers is a continuing process and anyone interested in becoming a volunteer for this community may download a copy of the
application, complete it, and deliver it with any other requirements to the Fire Chief.
The Womens Bay Fire Department is governed by an elected advisory board. This board,
Womens Bay Service Area Board, governs at the direction of the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly.
There is no experience required to become a volunteer; the department provides training to new members. There are a variety of jobs, both fire and support, that are available to those interested in volunteering. Firefighter training is held every Monday evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
