Governance
The Bayside Fire Station is governed by an elected advisory board. The Fire Protection Area No. 1 Board governs at the direction of the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly.
Responsibilities
The Bayside Fire Station is funded by and serves the residents and visitors of Fire Protection Area No. 1.

Fire Protection Area No. 1 generally is the road system North and East of the Kodiak City limits out to the end of Monashka Bay Road.
Bayside Fire Station provides emergency fire protection and medical first responder services within our service area, and also mutual aid to the City of Kodiak, Kodiak State Airport, and Women’s Bay Fire Stations.
Staff Information
The Bayside Fire Station is a combination department with a paid fire chief who resides in the station and volunteer staff who respond from their homes as dispatched by the City of Kodiak Public Safety Access Point (PSAP).

Volunteers
Recruitment for volunteers is a continuing process and anyone interested in becoming a volunteer may download a copy of the application. Volunteers can contribute in many ways including; fire, EMS, communications, auxiliary, and financial.
Fill out the application and deliver it with the other requirements to the Fire Chief.
